History

It was the last part of the last decade of the last century when the deteriorating state of education at Tangla, especially at school level became an issue of great concern to some citizens of Tangla. To discuss the matter a meeting was convened on 30th July, 1995, chaired by Dr Ranjit Talukder where, after discussing the relevant issues a decision was taken to form a Board of Trustees and some selected members, namely Prof R.K. Sarmah, Prof H. K. Baruah and Prof J. K. Chakravarty were given the responsibility to do the initial work in establishing an English Medium High School.

Thus Mr H. K. Baruah was made M.D and  Tangla English Medium High School (TEMHS) was formally established under SEBA in 1996, with the following teachers: Mr Harendra Nath Sarmah, M. A. B. T.
